Port Orange Family YMCA is located under the canopy of oak trees that line City Center Parkway. This 38,000 square foot sports complex is in the heart of the city center’s 105 acre park and offers a multitude of sports and activities for every family member. The YMCA or Y, as it is commonly known, is an abbreviation for Young Men's Christian Association and is a global organization with facilities throughout the world that are open to anyone regardless of religion, race or social class. The YMCA’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all and uses a sliding scale for membership fees.

Port Orange Family YMCA has a multitude of programs and sports related activities. It is an air conditioned building with a basketball court, four indoor racquetball courts, locker rooms, free weight room, two hard wood studios, nautilus room, steam and sauna rooms, a heated 50 meter swimming pool and a physical therapy facility.

For youth sports the Y offers swimming, karate, dance, basketball, soccer, and t-ball. YMCA also has various children fitness programs such as kidz fit and kidz run. These team based classes use a mixture of different physical games to train as well as strengthen muscles and help children stay healthy while playing with their peers. Children 8-11 years old are also allowed to use gym equipment under parental supervision on Fridays from 6-9 pm, Saturdays 1-5 pm and from 12-5pm on Sundays. The Port Orange Y has daycare as well as after school programs with bus transportation.

For adults the Y has over 20 different aerobic classes to choose from such as cardio strength, step, Zumba, karate and yoga. Adult team sports are organized on weekends and weeknights. This includes racquetball challenges, volleyball, swim teams, walking/running groups, and basketball. For triathlon participants and runners, the YMCA offers specialized training sessions as well as personal trainers and dieticians. Aqua fitness classes are available in the legal size outdoor swimming pool and spin classes can be taken within the specialized room. Older adults may enjoy the Y’s SilverSneakers exercise classes that are specifically designed for active adults.

Each locker room has showers, lockers, bathrooms, and changing rooms. Men’s and Women’s changing rooms have sauna, steam room and family locker rooms are designed specifically for families with easy access to the pool area. For overall health, Port Orange YMCA offers lifeguard training, CPR classes, babysitting classes, cooking classes, healthy eating programs as well as various seminars that focus on physical state, such as how to recover from sports injuries.

The Port Orange YMCA is open Monday-Friday 5am-9pm, Saturdays 7:00 am-5:00pm and Sundays 12:00 pm-5:00pm.
