Port Orange
and the South Daytona area has yearlong events for the whole family. Daytona Beach regularly holds special events such as beauty contests, hot dog or snow cone eating contests and free concerts. The list goes on and on with art shows, various festivals, sidewalk sales, a Christmas tour of historic homes and much more. The following is a partial list of some of the annual special events held in the Port Orange region.
Port Orange Family Days - a four-day festival, usually held in October, which takes place at the City Center Complex. This special event focuses on celebration of family and quality of life in Port Orange and features a carnival, business and non-profit expo, children’s games, parade, food court and entertainment.
Speedweeks - Daily racing events lead up to the prestigious Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. Usually held in February.
World’s Largest Motorcycle Event in Daytona Beach - this event includes races, motorcycle shows, concerts and other activities along Main Street.
Spring Car Show and Swap – held in March.
Florida International Festival - This multi-day event, which occurs every other year in July, features the London Symphony Orchestra, which calls the Daytona Beach area it's Official American Summer Home. Through a variety of world-class performances, entertainment ranging from music and dance to comedy and family favorites is presented through both free and paid programs.
Biketoberfest – usually held the third weekend in October. Look for motorcycle shows, demos, concerts and a great ride before storing the bike away for the winter.
Swinging Under the Stars at the Halifax Art Festival - Held in November. This festival is a tradition for over 42 years, with more than 280 artists from around the country who come to participate and compete for prize money. Artists display their works of art at the event, which takes place along Beach Street's Riverfront Marketplace in historic downtown Daytona Beach. The event will feature arts and crafts vendors, two food courts and two entertainment stages.
Birthplace of Speed Celebration – Held in November and commemorates the first timed automotive trials which took place on the sands of Ormond Beach in 1903. This nostalgic event features antique auto races on the beach.
